Obituary of Betty Jean Cranfield
Betty Jean Cranfield, 88, of Vischer Ferry, beloved wife of the late John P. Cranfield, peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 2, 2022.
Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Hanford and Ethel Rogers Lewis and was a graduate of Cohoes High School, Class of 1951.
Betty was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and had been a Cashier at Pantry Pride in Latham as well as at the Price Chopper (RT-146 & 146A) in Clifton Park, from where she retired in 1994.
She was a member of the Amity Reformed Church in Vischer Ferry, the Vischer Ferry Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, loved bowling with the girls in the village, enjoyed going to the Casino, to crochet, loved flowers and to cook - and boy did all love her cooking.
Devoted mother of Debbie (late, Joe) Jerome, Jim Cranfield, David (Vonda) Cranfield and the late John S. Cranfield, cherished grandmother of Christina (Tom) Gleason, Joe D. (Meghan) Jerome, Jr., Joshua (Debra) Jerome, Kerry (John) Sangster, John E. Cranfield, Sarah (Zac) Cunningham and Michelle (David) Braungard, also survived by 9 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Relatives and friend are invited to calling hours on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Spring interment will be held in Vischer Ferry Cemetery.
