Obituary of Joyce G. Ball
Joyce G. Ball, 73, of Clifton Park passed away after a long illness on April 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving sons.
Born in Flushing, NY on October 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Francis and Olga (Gulachok) Grancey. Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Stewart Ball, who passed away on December 1, 2005.
Joyce graduated in 1971 from Mansfield University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and received her Master’s Degree from Elmira College in 1973. She taught for the Elmira School District for over 10 years, teaching at the Riverside Elementary School and as a substitute teacher in many of the local school districts for grades K-12. In her later years, she worked as a mortgage processor for multiple loan servicing companies.
Joyce married the love of her life Robert on April 5th 1975 and spent many years building their family. Prior to his passing, Robert and Joyce loved going out for a night on the town in Saratoga. Her love for her family was undeniable. She was a kind, loving, generous soul, always going out of her way to help anyone who was in need. Joyce had a love for animals, was an avid reader and a faithful communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers.
She is the devoted mother of Robert (Christina Hewitt) Ball, Jr. of Clifton Park, NY, David (Trisha) Ball of Mechanicville, NY and Andrew Ball of Clifton Park, NY; loving sister of Donna (Patrick) Fanning of Powers Lake, WI; cherished grandmother of Vincent Robert Ball, Meaghan Bigler, Lauren Bigler, Aryanna Hewitt & Gianna Hewitt; aunt of Sean (Megan) Fanning, Scott Fanning, Brett (Ashley) Fanning and Ashley Fanning. Lifelong friend of Lynne Bryan and the late Allen Bryan, Joyce Wood, Nancy DellaPorta, Anne Marie Abel and countless others.
A memorial mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 23rd, 2022 at 11:00 am Corpus Christi Church in Ushers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or the American Heart Association in Joyce’s name.
