Obituary of Ray W. McKnight
Ray W. McKnight, 92, of Brunswick, beloved husband of Antoinette "Toni" Albarelli McKnight of Brunswick, peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, surrounded by his family at his home, where he was also born.
Born in the family home in Brunswick, he was the son of the late William and Ruth Ray McKnight.
Ray served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and as awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Ray was a Professor at Hudson Valley Community College, retiring after 40 years of service. He also enjoyed working McKnight’s Dairy Farm with his family.
He loved farming, horses and the Rodeo. Ray served in the Free & Accepted Masons for many years.
In addition to his beloved wife Toni, Ray was the devoted father of the late John R. “Mad Farmer”, “John Boy” McKnight, the cherished grandfather, “Pa” to John W. "Junior" McKnight of Brunswick, who was e predeceased by his mother Maureen Matthews McKnight, sister of Mrs. Jo-an Ruth Caputo of Brunswick
and family friend of Eric Gregoire of Brunswick.
Private services with military honors will be held for Ray at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959, in memory of Ray W. McKnight.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182.
