Obituary of Frank Schroeder
Francis William Schroeder, 75, of Cohoes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Scranton PA on December 9, 1946, “Frank” was the son of the late Rose M. (Joyce) Schroeder and the late Kenneth P. Schroeder.
Frank moved to NY with his family in March of 1949, graduated from Averill Park High School and retired as a Machinist from The Watervliet Arsenal.
For 46 years, Frank was the beloved husband of Sharon L. (Hornick) Schroeder.
Frank will be remembered by many for his quick and witty humor. He enjoyed spending time at the beach on annual vacations with his family. He was an avid gardener who also loved creating meals like his famous “slops” and his delicious meatballs. On special occasions you would always find Frank out on the dance floor. His favorite times, by far, were those spent with his adoring family.
In addition to his beloved wife, Frank is survived by his devoted children: Robert (Tammy) Plante of Palm Springs CA, Rachael Schroeder of Troy, Tara Schroeder of Cohoes and Cortney (Satonya Serrano) Schroeder of Schodack Landing; his treasured granddaughters: Ava Connelly, Olivia Connelly and Harper Schroeder; his siblings: Stephanie Marie (Michael) Heffner of Averill Park, William Schroeder of Edgewater, FL and Harold (Deanne) Schroeder of DeLand FL; many in-laws; an abundance of nieces and nephews; his cousins; and his cherished life long best friend and chosen family: Barbara (Marcel Chevalier) Jones, her daughter Samara (Jim) Dorward and their sons. Frank is also survived by his remarkable and beloved in-laws, who have always gone above and beyond, and can not be thanked enough, Darlene and Jim Watson. Frank was predeceased by his sister Patricia A. Schroeder and his brother Kenneth P. Schroeder, Jr.
When thinking of Frank, continue to say “I Love You” and per usual, right on cue, may you hear him whisper in the wind: “I ... Love Me Too.”
The Schroeder family would like to give a special thanks to The Community Hospice for their ongoing support, dedication and commitment. Especially his “Angel” who caringly and compassionately guided him to peace.
