JAMES A. BOVA, II

James A. Bova, II, 38, of Broadway, Watervliet, was taken from us much too soon as a result of a work related tree cutting accident in Halfmoon on Thursday, August 11, 2022.

Born in Troy, New York, James is the beloved son of James A. and Victoria “Vicki” Lawson Bova.

He was raised in Schaghticoke and was a graduate of Hoosic Valley Central High School.

James was working as an arborist on a job contracted to C & J Tree Co. in Stillwater and was a self employed autobody repairman and mechanic.

James was an avid and accomplished motocross dirt-bike racer and downhill skier. He had taught skiing at Willard Mountain as a young man. He was never afraid of anything and loved anything that would provide him a thrill. James was multi-talented having been able to do anything he put his mind too.

Beloved son of Vicki and James, devoted brother of Danielle Bova, cherished uncle of Darren Bova, loving godson of Mary Ann Sciacco (husband, James) and Eugene Bova (wife, Jackie), dear nephew of Eugene (Jackie) Bova, Thomas (Mary Jane) Bova, the late David (wife, Mary Catherine) Bova, Laurie (Robert “Bob”) Carlisle, Lisa (Gerald) Snyder, Margaret (Augustine “Gus”) Casey, Donald Bova and the late Joseph Bova, also survived by many cousins, great aunts and uncles.

Private funeral services have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Ave (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.

When the family is ready to have public services, those services will be made available here, on the funeral home website.
