Born Steven “Frank” Micare in Albany, New York on February 27, 1971; he was known to many as Frank. Frank was the son of Donna and Arthur Micare of Latham. He was an adored son, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Frank was a graduate of Shaker High School Class of 1989; where he excelled at football and lacrosse. He graduated from Castleton College in Vermont, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. Frank would eventually join the United States Postal Service, where he was employed for 22 years. Frank had a heart of gold and remained true to his roots, family, and friends.
An avid sportsman, Frank loved the quiet beauty of Martha’s Vineyard, his strolls on Lake George, and the many visits to Saratoga Springs. Frank spent many summers boating, jet skiing, and relaxing on the Great Sacandaga Lake at his family's summer home. His passion for adventure led him to fly fish, to jet ski, and to collect his many Saabs!
Frank’s favorite time was spent with his dogs, Blue and Lucy. A great lover of animals, Frank appreciated all critters that came his way. He and his longtime companion Michele Skiba spent countless hours walking Blue and Lucy on their property. Frank’s concern for others and his solidarity and commitment to friends and family was beyond measure.
Frank is the loving son of Donna and Arthur Micare. He is the brother to Kelly Micare, Kendra (Mark) Yale, Arthur Jr. (Carol Ann) Micare, Joseph (Dawn) and Anthony (Stefanie) Micare.
He leaves behind his companion of many years Michele Skiba. He was the beloved uncle to Emma, Sara, Joey, Ava, Sophia, Grace, Andrew and Alex. He also adored the family pets Roxie, Rusty, Luna, Striker, and Luna.
Frank’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all who made Frank’s journey more comfortable.
A special thank you to John Ricci who was with Frank every step of the way and who has comforted our family every waking hour. An angel on earth and the true definition of a friend. Frank was blessed!
