Obituary of Earnestine Ross
Mother Earnestine Ross, 90, of Lansinburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 27, 2022.
Born and educated in Glennville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Theo Ross and Martha Lee Hargrove Frazier.
Ms. Ross was employed simultaneously full-time for 37 years with the New York State Office of General Services in Albany and for 34 years at the Albany County Nursing Home in Colonie, where she provided care to the residents as a Nurses Aid. Mother Ross had also been foster grandparent with CEO (Center on Economic Opportunity) in Troy. She was awarded by CEO as well as by elected officials with proclamations and commendations for her commitment to being a dedicated Foster Grandparent for over 20 years and nurturing those who she cared for as one of her own.
Mother Ross was a life-member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Troy where she served as an Usher, Church Matriarch, member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and with the Woman’s Auxiliary for over 30 years.
Beloved mother of Earl (Lamila) Frazier, MacArthur “Mac” (Joyce) Henderson, Henrietta Edge and the late Maxine Ford, who were predeceased by their stepfather Benny Hampton, loving sister of Bobby, Raleigh and Johnnie Frazier, Catherine Gardner, Celia Holmes, Dorothy Lewis, Melissa Goode, Ruby Ross, Ethel Sellers, Laura, Lillian and Joey Ross, Angel Moody, Nancy Stewart, Theresa Blankenship, Carol Harvin and Angelina Moore, sister-in-Christ “God-sister” and best friend of Mary Alice Simon, Benny Mackey and Ethel Curtis, grandmother-in-law of Jamie Edge, great-great grandmother-in-law of Q McFarlane, also survived by cherished 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, her “favorite niece” Ashaima Dennis aka Martha Lee, also host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and those who’s lives which she touched. She was predeceased by Sylvester, Roy and Linda Ross, Robert Lee Redding, Freeman, Raymond, Sam, Warren, Winnie and Barbara Ann Frazier.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mother Ross’s Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 and to her Home Going Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. that morning, both at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2904 Fifth Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
Mother Ross’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all of those who have provided love and comfort to the family.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (see address above) in memory of Mother Ernestine Ross.
