Obituary of Florence Irene Beck
Florence Irene Beck, 100, of Lansingburgh, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
She was born October 15, 1922 to the late Frederick Henry and Florence Grace (Higgins) Bale in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Florence loved fly fishing, ice skating, roller skating, camping, square-dancing with her husband Warren, watching birds at her bird feeder, writing out cards and poems, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her much joy. She lived at home with her daughter Linda and family until recently. This past October 15th, Florence received a Proclamation celebrating her 100th birthday from the office of NYS Senator Daphne Jordan.
She was a member of the former Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Lansingburgh. She was a member of several Square Dance Clubs, including the Tamarac Twirlers.
Florence is predeceased by her husbands; Louis Brown and Warren E. Beck, her daughters Nancy Galarneau and Barbara (the late Lon) Bevill and her siblings; Edith Scherber, Dorothy Dowling, Violet Traub, Frederick Bale, John Bale and Marjorie Kehoe.
She is survived by her children; Judy (Fred) Stebbins of Las Vegas, NV, Wendy (Ron) Crannell of South Glens Falls, NY, Linda Beck of Troy, NY, Jill (Frank) Meade of North Creek, NY and Frederick A. “Fred” (Elizabeth) Beck of Troy, NY; and her son-in-law Jim (Bridget) Galarneau of Mechanicville. Florence is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, NY.
Florence’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Staff at Samaritan Hospital and Van Rensselaer Manor for their wonderful care.
