Obituary of Shirley A. Wood
Shirley A. Wood, 90, of the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation in Scotia passed away peacefully on Wednesday Dec. 7, 2022 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1932 in Watervliet and was the daughter of the late George and Sylvia Long VanVranken. Shirley had been a unit clerk for the former Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes. She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Wood who died in 1986. She was a house wife and homemaker.
She is the step-mother of John Wood, Michael (Lynn) Wood and the late Daniel Wood; sister of the late George, Robert, Clayton, Anita, Anna Mae, Mary, Herbert, William and Norman; grandmother of Brian Wood (Maureen) and Christopher Wood; step -grandmother of Steven Gillespie and Jacquelyn Gillespie-McNulty; great grandmother of Kaitlyn Wood, Christopher Wood, Brooklyn Wood, Caleb Wood, Ryan and Cooper Gillespie and Huckleberry McNulty; aunt of Linda (Joe) Maiello; Krista LaBar; Mark (Debbie) Conerty and families
Funeral service will be private for the family from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.
