Obituary of Sharlene M. Maldonado
Sharlene M. Hatch Maldonado, 66, of Second Avenue, Lansingburgh, beloved wife of the late James "Jimmy" Maldonado, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
Born in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late John Hatch and the late Eleanor Mae Merrill Hatch Wright (Robert J. Wright). She was educated at St. Peters Academy in Troy and Troy High School. She enjoyed and was proud to have been a member and to perform as a Majorette with the Fr. Thomas K. Flanigan Marching Band.
Sharlene was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker.
Sharlene loved going to the casino, cooking, going to and playing BINGO and gatherings with her family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and travelling with her loving companion, William “Bill” Ohler.
She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3773 Ladies Auxiliary in Lansingburgh and was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
Devoted mother of Nicolle Sidoti, Tara Brooks, Melissa Lajeunesse (Adam Keefe) and the late James “Jay” Maldonado, Jr., sister of Jacqueline Hebert, Robbie Marie Wright, Thomas Wright (MC), James Wright (Lori), Julie Stephenson, John Hatch, Jr., Norman Herrington and the late Bonnie M. Beard (Patrick W. “Pat”), cherished grandmother of John, Nicholas, Cassandra, Samantha, Anthony, Jason and Gianna “Gigi”, loving companion of William “Bill” Ohler, also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
Relatives and friends re invited and may call at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., (corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
Sharlene’s family wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude to the Albany Medical Center Hospital Physicians, Nurses and care teams as well as a special thanks to Dr. Joanne Porter of the Palliative Care team.
