Mr. Somnitz was a big part of Avenue A. I was always happy to receive an update on the history or our street, a picture of my children from Halloween and a special message on my birthday. He captured the wonderful memories of that very special street.

Thank you Maggie. Halloween was one of his favorite holidays. He loved seeing and taking pictures of all the kids he knew from Avenue A. He would track the number of kids who came to the door (often 100). We do the same today. Even 2022, he wanted to know how many came to my door. He also was very faithful to wishing everyone happy birthday.
