Obituary of Grace R. McCormack
Grace R. McCormack, 98, of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
Born in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late Bernice B. Dyer (Charles) Malka and the late Abe Yaiser. She was the beloved wife of the late George W. McCormack, Sr. and was educated at St. Peter’s Academy and Catholic Central High School, both in Troy.
Mrs. McCormack was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.
She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh, a member of The American Way Home Bureau and loved doing crafts, cooking, baking, candy making and her vegetable garden. Her family always looked forward to her pumpkin & banana breads, chili sauce and Christmas treats. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Devoted mother of George W. McCormack, Jr. and Cynthia (Scott F.) Penk, dear mother-in-law of Lynda McCormack, cherished grandmother of Kimberly (John) Manupella, Jason (fiancé Jessica Roberts) McCormack, Tiffany (Christopher) Cobb, Scott F. (Rachael) Penk, Jr. and Bradley (Alyssa) Penk, adored great grandmother of Hannah and Olivia Carafello and Cecilia Manupella, Juliana and Jaxon McCormack and Scarlett Cobb and Lillia McCormack and Scott F. “Tré” Penk, III, loving aunt of Bettina (John) Morrissey.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, Lansingburgh and to the interment which will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
In keeping with Grace’s wishes, private calling hours will be held for her family. There are no public calling hours.
