Obituary of Doris A. McQuade

Doris A. McKenna McQuade, 83, a longtime resident of Loudonville, peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, January 16, 2023.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Julia L. Freeman McKenna and was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. McQuade. Doris was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing, and obtained her BSN from SUNY Utica.

Doris was a dedicated Registered Nurse for many years. She loved caring for her patients while working at Albany Medical Center Hospital, Private Duty Nursing and BlueShield/BlueCross.

Doris loved to travel, especially to Maine, with her sister, Joan, and brother-in-law, Jack Coyne. She especially enjoyed attending her nephews' sporting events, graduations and weddings. She was a communicant and Choir Member of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville.

Doris is survived by her beloved niece, Darcy, and her husband Christopher Cassidy, their children; Eric (Allison) Cassidy and their daughter Maggie Joan, Chad (Alexandra) Cassidy and their son Cameron Kyle and Garrett (Alli Griffin) Cassidy and pre-deceased by her beloved nephew, Kyle Patrick Cassidy, her loving brother-in-law, John F. “Jack” Coyne, who was married to Doris’s sister, Joan, for 54 years until her passing in 2014, and also by cousins of the McKenna, Ormsby and Sheehey families.

Relatives and friends are invited to St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 for visitation on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and to the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. The Mass will be livestreamed at 11:00 a.m. and can be viewed at https://stpiusxloudonville.org/livestream/current-livestreams/

Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Troy.
