I worked with Sandy many years ago (early 90’s) and had the pleasure of spending a little time away from the office with her, and also visited with her in her home. I send my deepest condolences to Sandy’s family.

Sandy, I forgot to mention Uncle Dickie and Aunt Fran. Lana and Rosie came along after the epic Christmas and I think they were living in Cleveland at that time. I attended the christening of their son when he was born
in about 1986 and I was living in Cleveland when I was stationed there in the Coast Guard. The point is that when the brothers and sisters were all together and doing well, those were the best memories. The cousins benefited from that family cohesion.

Sandy, I will always remember the Christmas we all shared with your brothers Ricky and Steve, with my family, including Andy, Mike, Rob and Alicia. Aunt Claire and Uncle Joe with Pat and Amy, where we had an epic pile of Christmas presents and an equally epic pile of wrapping paper to clean up. Seems like a lot of popcorn makers showed up that year; not sure who coordinated that one. I think my brother David was on a ship in the Coast Guard and Camille brought Jeffrey, Tommy and Tina. (Forgive me if I missed anyone, please add in a subsequent posting). Aunt Carolyn and Frank had their hands full.
That Christmas was particularly memorable because it was a time when all the cousins were together and we were frequently together. All while Carolyn, Frank, Claire, Joe, Camille and my parents David (my dad), Alene (my mom) and often with our Grandmother DeGeorge and Larry sat around the kitchen table playing cards while the cousins ran the house. While we are all scattered around the the US in Florida, New York, Colorado, California and Chicago and other places, it is important to remember we are all family with each other, including the extended family we have not even met. Maybe Heaven will be like that big Christmas tree with an epic pile of presents and everyone together again. -Tim DeGeorge

The thing I remember most about Sandy was her love of family. There was always a light in her eyes when she spoke about them accompanied by commitment and pride. She was a gracious, kind woman and I'm really going to miss sharing grandmother fun with her. When we take Melody to our favorite vacation spots, Cape Cod and Lake Placid, you'll certainly be present in the ocean waves and mountain songs, and I know she'll feel your love. Deepest condolences to one of the best families I know.
