My memory's of hanging with Bob are fun times. While in high school riding on the bus to school on a Friday morning we decided that we were going to Utica. As the bus was nearing the Clifton Park entrance to the interstate Bob ask the driver to let us out at the on ramp. The driver said have fun as we left the bus. We caught a ride to the turnpike and headed west. When we arrived in Utica, Bob insisted we notify our moms of our where abouts. Bob never wanted our moms to worry.

I deeply regret the passing of Bob Manion. Along with his Brother
in Arms , Jack (Doc) Cassidy, we had numerous memorable days and
nights together, not the least of which were both of Doc's weddings. As
has been noted Bob never revealed all that he endured and continued
to lead an energetic and productive life. I, too shall miss him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you navigate these difficult waters. Your father was an amazing man and I feel blessed to have known him for the short period of time that I did. Although no words can comfort during these times, I have one statement to offer, if I may... Albert Pine stated "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal," Your father and all that he has done will remain and inspire forever. May God bless you all and I pray you all find peace in the days to come.
Sincerely,
Sarah

Sean and Hillary , I will always remember the times I played golf in the foursome at the club. Bob would say that I was playing under an alias name because I was there more than most members. The trips to Savannah Georgia for golf and the hours of laughs at McDonagh’s I will never forget.
But most of all my stay with your Dad at the condo on Tybee Island. That’s where he humbled me to watch him get along each day with no complaints even with his disability. He was a great person and a great friend.
My hope now is that he meets up with his golfing buddies and play another round.
