My wife and I wanted to share a memory. In the early 2000's, after being at the Pleasantdale Church for a few years, we wanted to go on vacation. Bob Bethel and Ruth Horton suggested why not going to Myrtle Beach, and how it was a wonderful place to visit. Not being and avid traveler, especially long distances we were more than a little hesitant. Bob allowed us to use his GPS device which in those days were very expensive, and he and Bettykay allowed us to stay at their home in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. It was real blessing and such a memorable experience for us, that we went again the following year. Bob was a kind, thoughtful and generous person, and we will forever be grateful to have had him for a friend. " Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting?" Uncle Bob You were my Godfather, my Uncle and my friend. You were larger than life, and you were loved and respected by so many. Your absence will leave a huge hole in our family tapestry. I'm blessed and honored to have known Bob, even though for only a short while. His wonderful sense of humor and infectious smile are my greatest memories. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, our lives crossed paths .I am truly blessed to have spent time with this incredible family. My Uncle Bob was raised to be a man; to stand up for God, his family & his country. He did all of these, setting an example to others. He was a positive male figure in my life as a young girl without a dad, ever generous with his time, advice & love. I will never stand as straight & tall as he wanted, but I will always remember to stay strong & trust God. Love, Lynda
