Obituary of Christine A. Whalen
Christine A. “Chrissy” Whalen, 54, of Speigletown (Town of Schaghticoke), beloved wife for 34 years of Walter C. Whalen, entered into eternal life on Thursday May 18, 2023.
Born in Troy, she is the daughter of Kenneth (late, Patricia) MacNary and Patricia (Michael “Zeke”) Thompson Fisher. Christine was a graduate of Troy High School and HVCC where she obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing.
For 30 years, Chrissy was a dedicated RN, with most of those years in the “OR” at the Leonard Hospital in Lansingburgh, St. Mary’s Hospital and most recently at Samaritan Hospital, both in Troy.
She enjoyed the family camp on Crooked Lake, gardening, being outdoors and spending as much time as possible with her family, especially her grandbabies who affectionately called her “CiCi”.
Beloved wife of Walter, devoted mother of Kayle E. (Thomas Dickinson) Whalen and Alexis M. (Jordan Burns) Whalen, cherished grandmother and “CiCi” of Bryce and Camden, dear sister of Kenneth “Kenny” Mary Beth) MacNary, Hilary (Steve) Phillips, Colleen Robbins, Christin (John) Keating and Jimmy (Aimee) MacNary, also survived by her loving aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY, 12182 and to St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh for Chrissy’s Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at Noon.
Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
