Obituary of Richard H. Fulmer

Richard H. Fulmer, 84, died on Saturday June 10, 2023 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.  He was born in Syracuse, NY and was the son of the late Dorothy and Ollie Fulmer.  He graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School and LeMoyne College.  He obtained a Ph.D. in nuclear physics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1964 and then worked for his entire career at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Niskayuna, NY.  He held various positions in engineering and management, prior to his retirement in 1998.  He was a past member of the American Physical Society, American Nuclear Society and the U.S. Naval Institute.

 

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Crescent and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He volunteered for Carelinks and the HOA of Sheldon Hills.

 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Anne (Guthrie) Fulmer; three sons, Mark Fulmer of Clifton Park, NY, Bruce (Kattia) Fulmer of Ballston Lake, NY and Daniel (Andrea) Fulmer of Halfmoon, NY; three grandchildren, Veronica Fulmer and Adriana Fulmer both of Costa Rica and Eric Fulmer of Ballston Lake, NY; a sister, Marlene Dickinson of Camillus, NY and several nieces and nephews.

 

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 15, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, Crescent, 86 Church Hill Road, Waterford, NY 12188
