Obituary of H. James Magee

H. James Magee, 82, affectionately known as “Jimmy” and “Jim” of Brunswick, formerly of Wynantskill, beloved husband of Barbara A. Schraver Magee, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded and loved by his family on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Born in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late Howard Magee and the late Marjorie Spain Magee Nightingale and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Hudson Valley Community College.

Jim was the Owner, President and CEO of HJM Precision, Inc. in Lansingburgh. A true entrepreneur, Jimmy had also been the Owner of Brunswick Greens Golf Course and Restaurant in Brunswick.

He was a member and tireless supporter of the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club, Inc., having served on their Board of Director’s and is a Club Alumnus. Jim loved to serve his community as a Coach for his son’s teams at St. Jude’s School in Wynantskill. He had also been a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill.

Jim enjoyed golf and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Beloved husband of Barbara, devoted father of Michael (Linda) Magee, Scott (Kelly) Magee and Shawn Magee, loving brother of Michael (Mary) Magee, Doris Freemantle and Mary (Daniel) Danahy, cherished grandfather of Sarah, Ashley, Courtney, Cassidy, Liam and the late Christopher Magee, dear son-in-law of Betty Schraver, brother-in-law of Bonnie (Mark) Willis, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the Life of H. James Magee on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Magee residence from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. where prayers and shared reflections will be offered at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.

Jimmy’s family would like to offer their most sincere appreciation to Hospice and No Place Like Home Care. They treated Jim with dignity and respect and were a huge help to the family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
