Obituary of James E. Malloy
James E. “Jim” Malloy, 73, of Ballston Lake (Town of Clifton Park), beloved husband for nearly 51 years of Judith A. Fitzpatrick “Judy” Malloy, peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 16, 2023.
Born in Catskill, NY, he was the son of the late James Elliot and Evelyn Keller Malloy and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s in Catskill and SUNY Plattsburgh where he earned his BA in Economics.
Jim retired after 38 years from the New York State Department of Labor in Albany where he was an Internal Security Specialist.
He served four terms for about 12 years as a PEF Executive Board Member, was a Life Member of the Clifton Park Elks Lodge #2466, was awarded “Elk of the Year”. He enjoyed being at the family camp on Pleasant Lake with family and friends, fishing and boating. He loved watching the “kids” water ski, especially 12 year old Molly. He and Judy enjoyed many trips to the ocean in Maine and Massachusetts and visiting lighthouses.
Beloved husband of Judy, devoted father of Shannon (Mike) Schlissel and Darren (Jessica) Malloy, brother of the late Robert M. (Gail) Malloy, cherished grandfather of Molly Schlissel, also survived by 15 niece and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. which will be followed by the Funeral Service that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. all within the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, New York 12065.
The Malloy family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Saratoga Hospital for the compassionate and dedicated care he received during his many stays there.
