Obituary of Colin G. Vandenburgh
Colin G. Vandenburgh, 81 of Pleasantdale (Town of Schaghticoke), passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born in Sharon Springs, New York, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Carolyn Schultz Vandenburgh.
Colin was a Mechanic at VanDon Automotive in Troy.
He loved antique cars, in particular the Model T and Model A, going to the “Gallupville Antique Car Show” (officially called the Hudson Mohawk Chapter of the Pioneer Gas Engine Association, Inc. “Gas-Up”) for over 50 years and was an avid NASCAR fan. Everyone referred to him as a “couch potato” and he would always remind anyone who changed the channel to “don’t touch the remote.” as he was dozing off or already asleep. He also was a life member for over 50 years of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3773 in Lansingburgh.
Devoted father of Michelle (Kenneth, Sr.) Domey, Kerry (Michael) Fitch, Walter Scott (Betty) Vandenburgh, Darin (Jessie) Vandenburgh, Brandy Vandenburg and Jamie Vandenburgh who are survived by their mother Barbara Burns, Dawn Vandenburgh, Keith Vandenburgh, Scott Vandenburgh, Lisa Brennan, Laurie Vandenburgh and the late Colleen Mahoney; brother of Paul Toombs, Janet Vandenburgh and Dawn Bakarian, also survived by 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. 565 Fourth Avenue (at the Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
A calling hour will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
