Obituary of Robert N. Bonesteel
Cropseyville, New York
Robert N. “Bob” Bonesteel, 79, of Cropseyville, beloved husband of Patricia A. “Pat” Ellsworth Bonesteel, peacefully entered eternal life, surrounded and in the loving comfort of his family on August 13, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born in Philadelphia, PA., he was raised In Brunswick, New York on Bonesteel Lane. He was the son of the late Harold and Isabelle White Bonesteel. Bob was survived by his brother Thomas Palmer (Nan). He was also survived by several cousins, neices and nephews.
He was the devoted father of Barry (Diane Crandall), Brian (Donna Gallintz), and Beth Bonesteel whom he shared with Sally Renaud Bonesteel in a previous marriage. He was the proud grandfather of Monica (Michael, Sr.) Seyffer and Courtney Bonesteel. He also was a proud great grandfather of Nathan Nolan, Michael Seyffer, Jr. and Matthew Seyffer.
Bob was the beloved husband of Pat and was subsequently blessed with a blended family that included stepchildren Stephen Shoemaker, Glen Shoemaker, Kent Shoemaker and Lisa Shoemaker.
Bob was a man of many trades. He was born on a farm and was well versed in its life. He worked construction and drove trucks for various companies within the capital district for many years. He even has funny stories of plowing snow in New York City. In his early years, he was proud to have worked on the South Mall in Albany. He eventually retired as a custodian with the Averill Park Central School District.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors. In his younger years, he loved to hunt and fish. Later in life, he was very proud of the many moments that he spent with his eldest son, Barry, logging. As a hobby, Bob loved to tinker with small motors, especially lawn mowers of any kind. As a younger man, he enjoyed working on cars, but honestly, he had no interest in the new cars of today.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180 on Thursday, August 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Funeral Service and Reflections will be offered that afternoon in the funeral home at 4:15 p.m.

We are also very thankful for all the doctors who took part in his care, especially, Dr. Jonah Marshall, whom Dad had great confidence in.
