Dear Susie,
My heart is so broken that you are not here with us anymore. I can't imagine a life without you in it. It's true, I didn't see you that often as an adult (as I was the NJ cousin), but u were always a close part of our immediate family, never considered "extended family".
Being one of the older cousins, I was nearby for your birth, your christening, and when in Pittsfield, your babysitter. There was always so much excitement when we were with the Belfords! Remember Ricky locking himself in the bedroom, and Uncle James, along with the rest of the Fire Dept came to rescue him. How about the time Teresa cut her tongue with her teeth after a fall. Bleeding, bleeding, your dad was frantic! So were our mom's when they got home! The games we played for pennies. Your mom teaching us poker, and blackjack, Uno and the ultimate scrabble game. Those were the good times! I remember your mom mad because I made cat as a word! How I learned to hate that game!
Remember the tour you and Norm gave us of the Erie Canal? I was so amazed that it really crossed a land mass! How about Ca-na-da? The week long car trip with my mom, looking for "la Salle de bain" instead of "le (la?) Toilet"? Then, on the last night of said trip, the chair incident?
Your witty, politely sarcastic humor always saved the day. I am going to miss you and Gina bantering back and forth with that humor. You always made me giggle! You were kind and caring, there for my mom, who loved u so. You were there for us. Do you know now how much we appreciated you?
Norm, Steve, Laura, Amanda, how great your pain must be. Perhaps you can find solace in the fact she is pain free. Perhaps she found Aunt Fran and Uncle Dick waiting for her, with Aunt Jackie not far behind. She is at peace. I believe that. I also believe she doesn't want us to be sad. Sue had too much life snd strength in her to want anything but happiness for all of us.
The road will be hard and long. The memories are as wonderful as the life she led and the amusement she shared. May you find peace knowing she was so close to you, loving you all, always.
Wih sincere sympathy,
Marie.

Dear Norm, Steven, Laura, Amanda and the rest of Sue's family.
As you know, I have known Susan since our days at Hibbard Elementary. We were placed in home room together (the band room at South Jr. High) and became inseparable friends thru Jr. High. We both loved to talk, and were a little flighty, emotional and silly. We shared first dates, girl scouts, dancing in my living room to the Archies, Bobbie Sherman and the Partridge Family. We were regulars at Bousquet Ski Area and skiied many days after school with our parents carpooling. We both got a job at Bonanza Restaurant on the same day and worked together there for 4-5 years - much of that work time spend laughing so hard we cried. We were not in touch for about 15 -20 years - mostly due to distance. During Covid, we reconnected over a 2 1/2 hour phone call and it was like time hadn't changed. I feel so lucky we were able to see each other 3 times last year (and talked non-stop each time). My heart aches for the loss of such a special person - mother, wife and friend. I know how hard this time is for all of you. Hang on to the memories of her warmth, smile and unconditional love and she will help you get thru this and will be with you always.

I worked with Sue at the lab in Malta for years. She would come after working a full shift at Wilton, always with a smile on her face, always giving her all and she just had a way of making me smile. Sue had an amazing sense of humor, even when things weren't going well, she had this witty sarcasm that just cracked me up. I remember when there were some birds nesting at Wilton in the parking lot, she put up a sign to protect them, we loved watching the Snowy Owl together and looking at her blue bird and cat pictures and boy was she passionate about her cats, including Eddie. I loved hearing about her family time, game night and all the things they would do together. I would like to express my deepest condolences to her pets and family. Sue was a rare kind soul who always strived to do right, this was a woman with a heart of gold and I will miss her dearly.

Dearest Gina, my mind and heart have
been holding You and your Loved ones in my arms.
"Susie" was always "voted" The Sweetest Cousin. I'm sure she was right up to the end.
I am still in deep suffering over the loss of all my siblings. Your road ahead is a tough one. Accept all the Love that is sent your way. I Love You, and I am always here if there is anything I can do. HUGS!

I worked ith Sue at Wilton for13 years. She was dedicated to the profession and she brought that to the lab everyday. Her great sense of humor often made a difficult day so much better. Her family was everything to her and I wish them peace. I know she will be missed.
