Obituary of Donald G. Harmande
Donald G. Harmande, 91, of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on Monday Oct. 2, 2023 at his home in the loving care of his children. Don was born in the Bronx on July 23, 1932 and was the son of the late Daniel and Bertha (Stengle) Harmande. He was the beloved husband of the late Adele R. Harmande who died on March 13, 2003. Don and Adele were married on Feb. 14, 1959. Don retired as the Principle Administrative Associate for the New York City Dept. of Finance in the Office of the Commissioner of Finance in New York City. Following retirement in 1994, Don worked for Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care in Clifton Park. He was a longtime communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church where he had been a member of the choir and was a lector. He is the devoted father of Neil F. Harmande and Jill Adele Harmande.
Neil and Jill wish to thank his wonderful caregivers, Malina Mannarino of Home Health Care Services, Indira, Patty, Belinda and Patricia. To the wonderful care given at Ellis Hospital and the Ellis Rehabilitation Center in Schenectady, to Dr. Stephen Piacentine and staff, Dr. Balaraman, the Community Hospice of Saratoga, who made his journey smooth and calm. To Martha “Marti” and her daughter, Jennifer, for your friendship. All of your love and care will always b e remembered.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065. A calling hour will precede the mass in the church chapel from 9-10 am. Interment with full military honors will be at 12 noon in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
