Obituary of Jeffrey E. Schofield
Speigletown, New York
Jeffrey E. “Jeff” Schofield, 67, of Speigletown (Town of Schaghticoke), beloved husband for 36 years to Marie Hogan Schofield, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Stephanie Rozdilsky Schofield and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.
Jeff then served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1977 and received the National Defense Service Medal, Qualified Submariner Medal and his Honorable Discharge.
For over 40 years, Jeff had been employed by GE Silicones in Waterford which became Momentive, when he retired.
He enjoyed camping, boating, Nascar, was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, loved vacationing in Myrtle Beach and loved the beach in general but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of Marie Hogan Schofield, devoted father of Christina Hogan (DeGraw), Amber Schofield (Kyle Leibach) and Julia Schofield, cherished grandfather of Victoria DeGraw, brother of the late Susan Visser, loving brother-in-law of Joseph Hogan, Daniel Hogan, Patricia (Robert) Biel and Colleen Hogan (Hamilton), adored Uncle of Josh Visser, Gabe Visser, Lucas Visser, Ashley (Nick) Cavin, Greg (Lauren) Hogan and Shane (Fiancée Elizabeth Cammarere) Hogan.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 and to his Funeral Service which will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
Interment with U.S. Navy Honors will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
Jeff’s family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at Albany Medical Center CCU for their loving care that was provided to him and his family.
