PATRICIA A. HERRICK

Patricia Anne DeLucia Herrick, 77, of Upper Newtown Rd., passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her children.

She was born March 19, 1946, in Passaic, NJ, to Guy and Anne Sovich DeLucia. Upon graduating from Clifton High School in 1964, she pursued a career in Speech Language Pathology, earning a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. In 1970, Patricia relocated to the Capital Region to marry the love of her life, D-Cady “Terry” Herrick III. For over 51 years, they shared a blessed life, raising three loving children and devoting their lives to each other and their family, until Terry’s passing in 2021.

Patricia worked as an early intervention speech pathologist throughout the Capital Region for more than 30 years, including tenures with the Niskayuna Public School District and Helping Hands Nursery School in Clifton Park. She was a nurturer at heart, devoting herself to loving and caring for her family. It was her tenacity and dedication to caretaking that significantly improved the lives of both her husband and mother during lengthy health struggles. Patricia was a devoted grandmother and adored spending time with her five grandchildren, whether they were playing board games or baking cookies. She was skilled in the kitchen and savored the family fame prompted by her lasagna, ‘Grammie’ Jam, famous chocolate chip cookies, and coveted chocolate cake. She loved to travel, particularly to the coast where she could breathe the sea air and put her toes in the sand. Patricia had a green thumb, loved working outdoors, and took great pride in her home. Her cherished friends speak of her kind heart and uplifting spirit. She was also a long-time parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Crescent.

Devoted mother of Michele (Jon) Tellstone of Saratoga Springs, NY, Kimberly (Albert) Eck III of Rochester, IL and Charles Jonathan (Michelle) Herrick II of Rockville Centre, NY; loving sister of Jacqueline Stefanacci of Vero Beach, FL and the late Robert DeLucia, cherished grandmother “Grammie” of Abigail Tellstone, Cady and Albert Eck IV, and Benjamin and Henry Herrick, and beloved sister-in-law of Katharine and Birger Gabrielson of Naugatuck, CT and Stephen and Anne Marie Herrick of Albany, NY; she is also survived by 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church in Crescent.

Interment will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
