Obituary of Arthur Lee Richards

Please share a memory of Arthur to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Glenville, New York

Arthur Lee Richards, 74, of Glenville went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, he was raised and educated in Stephentown until moving to Troy in 1962. After graduating from Troy High School in 1968, he went to Hudson Valley Community College, until he and his brother, Bob, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  Following his service, he returned to HVCC and received an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

After he met Debbie in 1976 and met the Lord in 1977, they were married in 1978 and eventually had their son, Brian. Art has been a loving husband and father to them, both.  He was a twin brother to his older brother (by 2 minutes) Bob, and they have been extremely close and best male friends.

Art worked in architecture, and took pride as an engineer in his career with the NYS Dept. of Transportation.   He also had a passion for, and enjoyed, boating on Lake George.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; son, Brian and his wife Kaitlyn of Schoharie; brother Robert and his wife Terry of Brunswick, Glenn and his wife Pat of WV and Don French and his wife Sandy of Mechanicville; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Clifton Park Community Church, 516 Moe Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Monday, November 27th at 2 PM.  A calling hour will be held one hour earlier, beginning at 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorial contributions be made to Clifton Park Community Church, at the above address.

His interment has been held privately at the convenience of the family at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, with full military honors.

Funeral arrangmens have been entrusted to the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180.
