Obituary of Joann Rogers

Joann Rogers – Brunswick, NY 

Joann passed on November 21, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.  

Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Howard Rogers and Elise Peterson Rogers of Brunswick.

Joann was employed at Wal-Mart for 25 years where she became known as Momma Jo to a lot of her co-workers.

After retiring Joann enjoyed doing yard work and spending time outside. Along with relaxing with her kitty Princess,  Joann loved baking cookies for her great-great nephews Blake and Luke Smania. She also liked to take her trips to Wal-Mart with her friend Nora Dwyer to see her friends Marianne, Pam, Peg, Jenn, Jess and many others. Joann would keep her neighbors on their toes along with the property owner Paul and the maintenance man Brian.  

She was cherished by her niece Linda and great niece Brittney, who were by her side until she passed into eternal life.

Survivors include her sisters Shirley (David) Lossee, Marjorie Rogers, niece Linda Arnold, nephew Charlie (Lucy) Arnold , nephew Scott (Denise) Lossee, Great niece Brittney Smania (Greg Anderson), great nephews Christopher Arnold and Michael (Kelly) Arnold. Joann had 4 great-great nephews and 2 great-great nieces. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Nancy Rogers and brother Howard Rogers. 

Relatives and friends are invited to the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180 on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 for Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. where reflections will be shared.

Special thanks to Crystal for being a short term caregiver to Joann.

Interment will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
