Obituary of Terence S. Purcell

Terence Sean "Terry” Purcell, 63 of Mechanicsburg, PA, formerly of Brunswick, peacefully entered into eternal life at home, surrounded by family on October 6, 2023.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Richard A. and Sally A. Gannon Purcell. Terry was a graduate of Penn State University (PSU) and a 23-year Veteran of the US Naval Supply Corps, retiring as a Commander and earning two Master’s degrees while serving his country.  Terry also spent 10 years in contracting for the Federal Government following his retirement from the Navy.

While at PSU, Terry was a proud member of the PSU Marching Blue Band where he played the trombone and performed on the football field with the band. Terry was an avid sports fan and a PSU football season ticket holder.  In addition to his beloved PSU Nittany Lions, Terry was a lifelong New York Yankees fan.

Devoted and proud father of 4 sons, Terry is survived by Timothy J., Terence Sean, Jr., Kieran C., and Ryan P.   Terry is also survived by his siblings, Erin A. (Michael Marvell) Purcell of Niskayuna, Richard A. (Robin) Purcell, Jr. of Reedsville, Pa., and Timothy S. (Deidre) Purcell of Clifton Park.

A private celebration of life was held.
