Eleanor L. Smith, 101, of the Eddy in Troy passed away peacefully on Monday Dec. 18, 2023 at her residence.  She was born on July 17, 1922 in Queens, NY and was the daughter of the late William and Louise Caroselli Misischia.  She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Queens and the wife of the late Edward Smith.  Eleanor had been a typist for the Sperry Gyroscope Co. on Long Island.  She had been a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.  Eleanor enjoyed baseball and was a NY Mets fan.  She enjoyed going to the Race Track with her husband and always bet the grey horse, if one was running that day.

 

She is the devoted mother of Edward T. Smith (Joy Rodrieugez) and Susan D. Smith (Clayton Johnson); sister of the late Albert Misischia and Florence Lapore; Cherished grandmother of Brian Ray (Renee)  and Debby Ray; great grandmother of Brandan, Lauren, Ella Ray, Keenan Ray-Sparks and Keris Ray-Sparks; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

 

Funeral service will be private on Friday from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY  12065.

 

 Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga, New York.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
