Obituary of Robert A. DeVoe, Sr.
Robert A. DeVoe, Sr., 80, of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on Wednesday Feb. 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 5, 1943 in Niskayuna and was the son of the late Henry and Margaret LaFreniere DeVoe. Bob was a Marine Corp Veteran serving honorably during Vietnam. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Medal, discharged as a Cpl. Bob was a “Proud Marine”. He had been a truck driver for most of his working career. He loved painting, woodworking and relaxing by his outdoor fireplace. He had a love for all animals, especially his late Husky, “Jerry Lee”. A favorite place for his regular donations was the Native American Lakota Tribes and Veteran’s Associations.
He is the beloved husband of the late Jean M. Kenison DeVoe, whom he married on March 7, 1968 and cherished dearly. They were married 34 years until her passing on April 26, 2002. He is the dear father of Trudi Maloney (Mike), Robert A. DeVoe, Jr (Elise). and Richard DeVoe; brother of Fran and Dawn; cherished grandfather of Amber (James), Brandon, Aiden and Jordan; great grandfather of Jace Sutton and Colton Garthe.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Memory Garden’s Colonie, NY
