Obituary of Eleanor "Ann" Legnard

Eleanor Ann Whitworth Legnard, 86, of Troy and Kissimmee, FL, beloved wife for 59 years of the late Harold J. “Bud” Legnard, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Born in Jasper, AL, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Cynthia Paden Whitworth and was a graduate of Walker County High School.

Mrs. Legnard had been employed as a Matron at Lansingburgh High School for 18 years and also previously employed at Bob-Ton Cleaners.

Ann was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh and St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Cloud, FL.

Devoted mother of Joseph "Joe" Legnard (Lisa Chouffi) of Guilderland, Brenda A. Peregrim (Craig Mantello) of Troy, Margaret S. "Peggy" (Terry) Ryan of Cohoes and Theresa (Randy) Ulrich of Gulf Shores, AL,  cherished grandmother of Sarah Marie (Eric) Rosner,  Alex Andrew (Elise) Kaiser, Maghen (Brian) Adair, Matthew T. Ryan, Thomas J. (Sarah) Legnard and Julianne Gunner, sister of the late Fred Whitworth, Arthur J. Barney, Delton (Buddy) Whitworth, Ella Mae Elkins, Marceilla Parrish and Dorothy Nell Whitworth, also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182, thence to St. Augustine's Church, Lansingburgh, where at 11:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be held in St. Johns Cemetery, Lansingburgh.

The Legnard family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Van Rensselaer Manor and Community Hospice of Rensselaer for their, kindness, compassion and dedication.
