Obituary of Patricia J. Prescott
Patricia J. “Pat” Prescott, 85, of Lansingburgh, beloved wife of the late Leo Prescott, peacefully entered into eternal life at her residence on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late James A. Day and the late Theresa J. Gorman Day Morey and stepdaughter of the late Thomas G. Morey. She attended St. Patrick’s School in Troy through eleventh grade and graduated from Lansingburgh Public High School.
Pat’s first marriage to Forrest C. Davies of Centenary, S.C. produced six beloved children and ended in divorce, followed by her marriage to Leo Prescott.
Pat was first and foremost a devoted wife, skilled home keeper and loving mother. She also was employed at Woolworth & Co. in Hadley, MA as head of security, at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst dining services, and other well known retailers.
Pat loved being with her family above everything else. She was a lifelong devout Catholic and a woman of great faith. She was an active member of the Rensselaer County Senior Citizens Center in Troy and enjoyed the activities and trips which were offered through the Center. She particularly enjoyed creating a warm and inviting home, celebrating her birthday parties and traveling.
Devoted mother of Cynthia Davies Cunha, Brian Davies (Elizabeth Williams), Sharon Davies, Sheila Davies, Stephen Prescott (Nancy Stoliker), the late Jeffrey Davies (Priscilla) and the late Douglas Davies, beloved sister of the late Marilyn Prescott, survived by uncle Robert Gorman, aunt Kathleen “Kay” Gorman Quillinan, 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She had a specially close bond to beloved niece Sarah Angello Jungenburg.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and may call on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Ave (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the same day, March 15, 2024 at 12:00 p.m at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford immediately following.
