Obituary of Dorothy M. Laeyt
Dorothy M. Renaud Laeyt, 96, of Brooksville, FL, passed away on March 14, 2024.
Born in Whitehall, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elwyn and Aline Brousseau Renaud and was the beloved wife of the late Louis J. Laeyt. Dorothy was a graduate of Watervliet High School.
Mrs. Laeyt retired in 1984 from the NYS Dept. of Taxation & Finance in Albany.
Mrs. Laeyt was active with the Troy Boys Club, Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts and the Speiglaires Junior Drum & Bugle Corps. She had been a member of the Highway Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.
Survivors included two children; James L. “Jimmy” (Margaret “Peggy”) Laeyt and Lori (late Robert “Bob”) Hill, siblings; Francis (Lynn and the late Colleen) Renaud, Faye (late, Warren) McFarren and Joan (Marvin) McIntyre, 5 grandchildren; Wendy Laeyt, Paul Laeyt (Holly Bishop), Todd Laeyt, Jeffrey (Jamie) Hill and Jennifer “Jenny” (Anthony) Hunter, 8 great grandchildren; Gabriel, Camren, Kyle, Lennon, Imajin, Liyana, Kai and Tyler, also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Elwyn (late, Rosemary) Renaud and Elinor (late George) Brown.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Highway Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 235 Hudson Ave, Mechanicville, NY 12118.
(Flowers deliveries can be made to the Church on Thursday after 12:00 P.M.)
Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Church on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
Dorothy's funeral arrangments have been entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue, (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
