Obituary of Martha Rae Sousis
Martha Rae Sousis, 68, of Pittstown, beloved wife for 17 years to Michael P. “Mike” Sousis, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by the love of her life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
She was born in Plattsburgh, NY and was the loving daughter to the late Lorraine Marie Gebo Gardner.
Martha retired from Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush where for 30 years she was dedicated to her patients and loved by her co-workers.
She loved going to Bingo, the Fair, movies, out to eat, taking rides to the Reservation for cigarettes as well as just hanging out and family cookouts.
Beloved wife to Mike, devoted mother of Brenda Grignon (Mike Rockenstire), Veronica Bulson (John), Timothy Angus (Juanita) and Clara Pregent (Pete), stepsister of Sharon Gardner, Rudy Gardner and the late Robert Gardner (Donna) and the late Terry Gardner, cherished grandmother of Trinity, Alexis, John, Jr., Marty, Timothy, Jason and Jacob, adored great grandmother of Honnie, Lillian, Freya, Schyler, Abagail, Mila, Remi, Easton, Johnny and Roman, dear cousin and good friend of Nancy Fearnley, also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and to the Funeral Service at 4:30 p.m. that day both at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, New York 12182.
Martha’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Peter’s Hospital/Trinity Health during her stay there.
