Obituary of Karin F. Rokjer
Karin F. Nelson Rokjer, 82 formerly of Shaver Pond Rd. in Grafton, entered eternal life on Saturday, April 6, 2024, surrounded by and in the loving company of her family while celebrating her birthday.
Born in Troy, she was raised in Mechanicville and was the daughter of the late Charles and Cheryl I. Jackson Nelson. She was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College.
Mrs. Rokjer was the Owner/Operator of Corporate Management Co., of the Capitol District, from where she retired just a couple of years ago.
Karin was very proud to have been the recipient of the Small Business Owner of the Year Award, loved to travel, especially to Florida (Cocoa Beach) and her kitty. She was a member of the Rensselaer County Women’s Republican Club and a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
Karin was the beloved wife of Robert J. Rokjer, who passed away on February 22, 2012.
She is the beloved mother of Deborah (Michael) Uhouse of Berkley Heights, NJ, Scott (Monica) Rokjer, Chad (Lisa) Rokjer, both of Grafton and Robert (Heather) Rokjer of Brunswick, cherished “Grandma” of Michael and Alaina Uhouse, Ashley (Shaine) Bonin, Scott (Courtney), Matthew and Samantha Rokjer, Chad Rokjer, Jr. and Jacob Rokjer and Robert J. Rokjer, loving sister of Cheryl (Anthony) Maiello of Schaghticoke, Barbara (Neil) Kennedy of Clifton Park, Laurie Qua of Melrose and the late William Nelson, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, thence to St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where at 11:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated and to the committal service which will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at 1:30 p.m.
The Rokjer family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to everyone at The Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy as well as to our dedicated first responders from both the Watervliet Fire and Police Departments for all of your loving care and all that was done for Karin and her family. The family also expresses their gratitude to all of the members of Valente’s Restaurant of Watervliet for their compassion and attentiveness to Karin.
In lieu of flowers, the family desires that any memorial contributions be made to the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, 2256 Burdett Ave, Troy, NY 12180 or to the Watervliet Professional Firefighters Local 590, 116-13th Street, Watervliet, NY 12189 or to the Watervliet Police PBA, 2-15th Street, Watervliet, NY 12189.
