Obituary of Susan E. Morgan
Susan E. Price Morgan, 78, of Cohoes and formerly of Brunswick Hills, beloved wife for 50 years of
the late George Walker Morgan, Jr., peacefully passed away on 14th day, April 2024.
Born in Seattle, WA, she was the daughter of the late George Eli and Virginia Hodges Price. Susan attended Olympus High School in Holladay, UT. Susan received her bachelors degree at the University of Utah.
While working for the Ski-Hi Institute in Ogden, UT, Sue and George met and were married shortly thereafter. They relocated in 1981 from Salt Lake City, UT to Clifton Park, NY and then to their home in Brunswick Hills.
Sue was a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing while employed with Beginnings in Troy. Sue was one of the founding members of Hands and Voices of New York. She was passionate about educating and supporting families and their deaf and hard of hearing children. She was an integral part in setting up the 1st chapter in the state of New York. Sue has been on the Board of Directors for this organization for many years and was an active member taking on the role of secretary and helping to organize fundraisers and social events for families.
Hands and Voices of New York is a statewide chapter of the national Hands and Voices organization and is dedicated to supporting families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing without a bias around communication modes or methodology. It is a parent-driven, nonprofit organization providing families with resources and is focused on enabling deaf and hard of hearing children to reach their highest potential.
Susan was a member of the Country Club of Troy, where she and George frequented for meals, events and friends. She was an avid Sunday School teacher of youth ages 18 and under. She was known and loved by many as Sister Friendly where once a month she would make a special appearance and bring a message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Susan became an active attendee of numerous Broadway shows and operas with her husband at the Metropolitan Opera House. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed her immense love for gardening, reading, and being a grandma.
Most importantly, Sue loved her six grandchildren. Sue built unique relationships with each one of them. Visits to the zoo and museums, sharing her collection of toys, making dinners, attending their performances and games, and even teaching and communicating in sign language were among her favorite experiences with them.
