Obituary of Margo Jean Klekovic

Margo Jean Klekovic, 77, of Rexford went home to be with the Lord on Monday,  April 22, 2024 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.  She was born on Sept. 24, 1946 in Bath, Maine and was the daughter of the late Clark and Marjorie White Matthews.  Margo was a graduate of Fitch Senior High School in Groton, CT and the Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing in New York City where she earned her Registered Nursing degree.  She had retired from the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia and had also worked for St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT.  She was a member of Living Hope Christian Church in Ballston Lake and earlier Clifton Park Center Baptist Church.

She was the beloved wife of John Klekovic, whom she married on Jan. 18, 1969; devoted mother of Michelle Sue Simpson (Darin), and her twins, Valerie Esther Cortez-Sanchez and Jennifer Anne Bruzdzinski  (Ronald Jr.) ; dear sister of Jeffrey Matthews (Linda) and the late Sue Ellen Matthews; cherished grandmother of Emily, Elizabeth, Ryan, twins Zachary and Tyler, Reagan, Paige, Sarah, and Rebecca; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 am  – 1:00 pm Friday in the funeral home prior to the service.  Interment will be in the Clifton Park Center Baptist Cemetery.
