Obituary of Virginia C. Clark
Virginia C. “Ginny” Clark, 64, of Troy, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
She was blessed to have a friend and companion in Raymond Taylor for over 30 years.
Virginia was born in Detroit, MI and was the daughter of the late Charles Hubbard Cornish, Jr. and the late Sally Land Cornish. She grew up in New Providence, New Jersey and then Patterson, New York. She went to Carmel High School and graduated with Honors. She went on to study at SUNY Oswego in Oswego, NY and continued studying at Seton Hall in New Jersey where she studied English. She would meet and later marry Bob Clark.
Ginny worked as a Child Care Assistant for 13 years at Berkshire Farms in Canaan, NY before her retirement. She spent her retirement, helping her daughter with her new grandson. She was made to be a grandmother. She was a teacher’s assistant at the Ark Charter School. She was the front desk concierge for the Marriott in Albany where she met her daughter’s father, Colin Haley.
She loved to help others. Many of her days were spent at the Ark after school program helping with homework, going on field trips, or crafting with the kids. She taught many of the neighborhood kids how to drive. Ginny was known for her fun cakes and thoughtful gifts. Virginia was a voracious reader and loved her game shows; Price is Right and Jeopardy. She served on the Taylor Apartments Tenants Association for over 20 years and was a member of NA, recently celebrating 33 years.
Beloved mother of Beth Haley of Albany, loving sister of Charlie (Lisa) Cornish, III and cherished grandmother of Carmen Sharpe, III.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Ave (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
