Obituary of Gertrude J. Adams
Gertrude J. "Trudy" Lucas Adams, 92, longtime resident of Marshland Court, beloved wife of the late John R. "Bud" Adams, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy.
Born in Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Howard J. and Rita L. Mossey Lucas and was a graduate of Waterford High School.
Trudy retired in 1984 as the Sportswear Department Manager at Flah's in Troy and had previously been employed at Denby's in Troy for 8 years and later with Peerless Co. in Troy for 13 years.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Brunswick Elks Ladies Auxiliary, a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church, was active in the O.L.V. Parent Teacher Association and an Assistant Den Mother for the Blue Birds of the Camp Fire Girls.
Devoted mother of Christine (Loyal) Maxon of Bradenton, FL and John R. ( Mary Ellen) Adams, Jr. of Brunswick, cherished grandma of Matthew J. Jacobsen, Lauren (Ryan) Fitzpatrick, Brian Adams and Shawn (Samantha Rosen) Adams; adored great grandma of Finnegan, Benjamin and Elijah Adams.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. from the Morris-Stebbins-Miner-Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy thence to Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 N. Lake Ave, Troy, NY 12180, where at 11:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Entombment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
