Obituary of Patricia A. McFarland Fredette
Pat McFarland, 79, a Lansingburgh native, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by and in the loving comfort of her family on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
Born in Lansingburgh, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Dorthea “Nanny” Neilson McFarland and the devoted and longtime companion of the late Joseph DiRienzo. Pat was a graduate of St. Augustine’s School and Lansingburgh High School.
Pat retired after 37 ½ years of state service from the NYS Worker’s Compensation Board in Menands as Principal Data Entry Machine Operator Supervisor.
Pat was an American through and through, very patriotic. She loved animals, particularly cats, crafts, taking long rides, going to garage sales, trips to the ocean, but most all, her family and their family gatherings.
Pat had been a Camp Fire Girls Leader, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3773 Auxiliary, a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh and formerly at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Troy.
Beloved mother of Shaun (Sue) Fredette, Janine (John) Goff, Jamie (Dennis) Stowell and Dana Fredette, cherished grandmother of Samantha Fredette, Sarah O’Brien, Shaun Fredette, Erica Fredette, Sabrina Ashcroft, Katie Fredette, Zachary Fredette and Dakota Fredette, adored great grandmother of Luke, Dominic, Ayden, Ava, Olivia, Natalie, Mason, Layla, Violet and Charlie, sister of the late James “Jim” (wife, Carol) McFarland and the late Charlotte (husband, Ronald) Galipeau, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182 thence to St. Augustine’s Church, Lansingburgh where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
