Obituary of Gloria P. Wilson
Gloria P. Wilson, 95, formerly of Lansingburgh and resident of the Collar City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasantdale (Town of Schaghticoke) peacefully entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
Born and educated in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Pansy Gross Cunningham and the beloved wife of the Lawrence Wilson, who predeceased her on November 14, 2014.
Mrs. Wilson retired as Assistant Director of the Troy Senior Center in Troy and was previously employed at the Collar City Nursing Home in Pleasantdale.
Gloria was also known as “Sparkles the Clown” for many years, brightening up many people’s days and enhancing their celebrations. As a youth, she volunteered at the Troy Masonic Temple. She had also been a member of the Troy Senior Center.
Beloved mother of Diane Keefe and the late Janice Wilson, who recently passed away on August 6, 2024, cherished “Grandma” of Adam (Melissa) Keefe, Cole Posniewski and Lilly (Steve) Posniewski, sister of Dwayne Cunningham, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Calling Hour will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service with time for Reflections at 11:00 a.m. all in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
Gloria’s family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at the Collar City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasantdale for their loving care the past 8 years while Gloria was a resident there.
