One of my fondest memories of Aunt Esther happened on family visits to the farm. She and my mom would sit at her kitchen table talking and randomly get the giggles. They would laugh and laugh....

I met Esther back in 1971 when we were both living in New Hampshire. She was reacquainting with Artie and later that year they married. I played the organ at that occasion. Esther loved playing hymns on her organ. We got her a small keyboard for her birthday this year and she amazed us at age 97 that she could remember how to play, by heart so many of the hymns she loved.
Always fun to talk with. She loved her Lord Jesus and Uncle Artie and now she is with them both.

A strong, precious memory of Aunt Esther was when we were visiting as kids, and Uncle Artie would pray for the meal. She told us right away to be quiet and pray with him - we wouldn't be able to understand him, because he was praying softly to our Lord from his heart, but we could pray from our hearts along with him....
When I was a senior at West Point (that's when we had car privileges, back in 1978), I would visit them about once a month, and Aunt Esther would always have my favorite blueberry pie waiting for me....

Esther was a beautiful, joyful aunt. When you were with her, you felt as though you were the only one in the room with her. Visits to Uncle Artie's and Aunt Ester's home always included organ playing and singing hymns together. Her baking and jams were legendary! The laughter in voice when she spoke and the joy in her eyes reflected her spirit and her love for the Lord. We are joyful with her that she is now reunited with her beloved Artie and her Lord!
