Obituary of William J. Tyrrell

William J. “Bill” Tyrrell, 59, of Mystic, CT, formerly of Saratoga Springs and Troy, NY, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT after a long illness. 

Born in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late William A. Tyrrell and the late Marie A. DeViddio Tyrrell Armstrong. Bill was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Class of 1983 and SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where he earned his BS in Computer Information Services.

Bill has been employed by General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT for the past 13 years, where he served as Senior Software Engineer since 2018. He previously worked in Systems Analyst/Administrator roles for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and the New York State Senate.

Loving brother of Kathleen Tyrrell of Cohoes, Barbara Tyrrell of Brunswick, Colleen (Brian) Hart of Bridgeville, Pa., Sheila (Peter) Molinaro of Loudonville and Erin (Kirk) Duncan of Brunswick; also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nephews and a great niece, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Ave (at the corner of 115^th St. in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.

Calling hours will be held that same day (Saturday) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will be held private at the convenience of the family in St. John’s Cemetery, Lansingburgh.

Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands, NY.
