Obituary of Jane Chouiniere
M. Jane Chouiniere, 96, of Cohoes and formerly of Brunswick, peacefully entered into eternal life after a life well lived on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Born in Lansingburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Genevieve Hume Lavin and was the beloved wife of the late William A. “Bill” Chouiniere who passed on July 7, 2004.
Jane retired from Samaritan Hospital where she had been the Director of Public Relations and had also worked at Norton Co., St. Augustine’s Church Rectory in Lansingburgh and for herself at Jane’s Graphics.
She was member of the Troy Lions Club, a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Devoted mother of Lynn (John) Pedreira, Nancy (William) Bragin, Karen (the Late Jack) Ryan and David (Donna) Chouiniere, cherished grandmother of Kristyn (Terry) Smith, Janelle (Steve) Mabee, Lauren (Chris) Whyno, Eileen (George) Earle, Michael (Nicky) Bragin and the late Brian Bragin, adored great grandmother of Katie Earle, Brian Earle, Sofia Bragin, Violet Smith, Calvin Smith and Jameson Mabee, sister of the late Robert Lavin and the late Doris (late, Kenneth) Kane, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral arrangements at the convenience of the family at St. Augustine’s Church and St. John’s Cemetery, both in Lansingburgh, have been entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., in Lansingburgh.
There are no public services.
Jane’s family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude for the loving care which has been provided to her and her family at the Eddy Village Green House 4 in Cohoes, especially to Josh for the special relationship which he had with her as well as to the caregivers from Community Hospice.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Troy Lion’s Club or to Community Hospice, in memory of Jane Chouiniere.
