Obituary of William R. Mischler

William "Bill" R. Mischler, 77, of Halfmoon, passed away on Monday Oct. 7, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. He was born on Feb. 19, 1947 and was the son of the late Richard A. and Eleanor Brava Mischler. Bill was a graduate of RPI in Troy receiving his engineering degree in 1969, where he was the Marshall of the Class. In 1970 Bill received his Master's degree. He is credited with designing the magnets for MRI's with inter magnetics for GE in Schenectady. He enjoyed traveling, reading and was a train enthusiast. He was a member of the Train Night Club traveling from home to home. He was also a member of local clubs including the MG Car Club, Truck Shows and The Old Songs program. He volunteered with the Watervliet Arsenal in their museum and he had been a communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers.
He is the beloved husband of Carla Fyvie Mischler, whom he married on Dec. 11, 2011; Pop to Lisa Marie, Toni Anne, Debra Lynn and Tony Dzikas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 US-9 Round Lake, NY 12151.
A calling hour will precede the mass from 10-11 am.
Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford, NY 12188.
