Rosemarie E. Bailo, 90, of Ballston Lake succumbed peacefully on Sunday Oct. 13, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital, after a two-year illness. Born in Syracuse NY, on February 3 1934, she was the daughter of the late William and Pauline (DeBottis) Flask, proprietors of Bill Flasks Restaurant in Warners NY. Rosemarie was a graduate of Solvay High School in Solvay, NY and earned her teaching degree at Geneseo State Teachers College. She was the beloved wife of John A. She began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher in Syracuse, New York and worked until she had children of her own. When her children got older, she became a substitute teacher in both Utica, New York and for the Shenendehowa Central School District. She volunteered her time to teach reading to struggling students and in later years tutored many young people in her home. Rosemarie loved the outdoors, especially the Adirondacks, where she hiked many beautiful trails with her husband and children. An outstanding cook, Rosemarie enjoyed creating exquisite meals, surrounded by the ones she loved. Rosemarie truly enjoyed the Christmas holiday season, and initiated the custom of purchasing yearly Christmas ornaments for her children and grandchildren. This tradition lasted well over forty years. A woman of exceptional faith, Rosemarie was a devout Catholic and was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and was a member of the church rosary group which she attended with many of her dear friends. The most important thing to her by far, was her family and the time she spent with them.
