Obituary of Priscilla A. DeVito
Priscilla A. DeVito, 85, of Diamond Rock Terrace Senior Apts. in Lansingburgh and formerly of Schenectady and Sycaway, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in the Town of Amsterdam where she has resided for the past three years.
Born and educated in Watervliet, New York, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Edith Cuoco Hepp and was the beloved wife for 38 years of the late Charles J. DeVito, Jr. who predeceased her in 2001.
Mrs. DeVito was a dedicated homemaker, excellent cook and had been employed at the former Williams Press in Menands, Normanskill Creamery in Sycaway and at Strawberry Lunch in Cohoes where she loved being in the kitchen cooking with her best friend Phyllis Bain.
Priscilla loved going to the Ocean, especially to Wells Beach in Maine, she loved to cook and could always be found in the kitchen, was an avid reader, enjoyed going to the Casino, playing Bingo and was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
Devoted mother of Cindy (Scott) Teta, Michael P. Jefferson, Nina (John) Lawrenson, and Gina Hayes, sister of Mario Hepp and the late Ronald Hepp, the late Francis “Bubbie” Hepp, the late Sandra Hepp and the late Robert Hepp, also survived by her 13 loving grandchildren, 17 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Priscilla’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, especially the entire 3rd and 4th floor staff.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
There are no public services.
