Obituary of Marianne F. Shaw
Marianne F. Hayner Shaw, 72, of Latham and formerly of Troy, peacefully entered into eternal life at her residence on Saturday, July 29, 2017.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Marion F. Smith Hayner and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and was the wife of the late Robert J. Shaw.
While Marianne was raising her children, she was a waitress for 20 years at Valle's Steakhouse (from when they first opened until they closed) in Colonie and then for several years at The Century House in Latham. Marianne then went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and had been employed at the Albany County Nursing Home in Colonie for nearly 20 years, having retired 10 years ago. She had a special devotion to those whom she was caring for and cherished that.
She had been attending St. Ambrose Church in Latham and had previously been a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh. Marianne enjoyed many things in life, but most of all, the times that she spent with her children and her grandchildren.
Devoted mother of Tracey Soltys of Daytona Beach, FL, Steven (Etsuko) Shaw of Cohoes, Kenneth (Christine) Shaw of Dallas, TX and Marcy (Christopher) Stevens of Pembroke, KY, cherished grandmother of Theodore Soltys, Jr., Dylan and Penelope Shaw, Austin, Cole, Ashleigh, Patrick, Elizabeth, Aaron, Mary and Grace Stevens, loving sister of Marjorie (Robert) Campbell of Newtown, CT, Robert (Charlotte) Hayner of Horseheads, NY and the late Charles and Willard J. "Willie" Hayner, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held on Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182 thence to St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in Newtown Village Cemetery in Newtown, CT.
