Obituary of James A. Studnicki
James A. "Jim" Studnicki, age 66, of Sycaway, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Mary's Haven in Saratoga Springs.
Born and raised in Troy, NY he was educated at Our Lady of Victory School, was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents Stanley and Joan E. "Ba" Studnicki and their first-born daughter Patricia Joan. Also predeceased by his former wife Janet Slattery Studnicki and Brother-In-Law Thomas Muller.
Mr. Studnicki was retired from NYS Department of Tax and Finance.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. He was happiest being with his grandchildren. He loved watching them swim in the backyard, taking them to Great Escape and attending all of their sporting events. Jim was an avid New York Yankees fan who held season tickets for many years and was able to attend multiple playoff and World Series games. He was also a Giants, Duke, and Bruins fan. When he wasn’t watching a game he was listening to his favorite oldies music. Many of his daughters friends would refer to him as "Mr. Stud" and Jim served as their softball coach with the Brunswick Girls Softball League for many years. Mr. Studnicki was a member of The Brunswick Elks and was involved in their golf and dart leagues.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Sycaway.
Loving father of Cara (Kenny) Salvi of Clifton Park and Tanya (Tom) Kane of Brunswick, dear brother of Hollis (James) Resnik, of Troy, cherished grandfather of Jacob, Taegen, Andrew, and Taryn Salvi, and Tommy and Teresa Kane, loving uncle to Shannon (Eric) Dean and their sons Josh and Tommy. Also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, a great niece and Godchildren.
The family would like to offer a thank you to those that provided compassionate care and friendship to Dad; specifically Dr. John O’Bryan & Troy Family Physician staff for all of their support, Community Hospice of Saratoga as well as the supportive volunteers at Mary's Haven for the excellent care over the past several weeks.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. from the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, then to Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue (at the corner of Marshland Ct), Troy, NY 12180 where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
